Say it once.Everyone gets it.

Two devices in the same PTT group chat: Alex's in New York and Camille's in Paris. The first shows each message as it was written, in English, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic. The second shows the whole chat in the language Camille picks. Write or say your own message on the first device to see it translated on the second.

81 languages. 555 voices. Zero phrasebooks.

Yes, Basque is in there. So are Zulu, Khmer and three kinds of Chinese.

What PTT does

Four tools. One very short learning curve.

Chat, broadcast, stream hands-free and let anyone in. Everything runs in the browser you already have.

Multilingual chat

One chat. Every language.

Start a chat, share the link, and everyone reads and replies in the language they pick. Type it, say it or snap a photo. PTT does the translating while you do the talking.

Live captions

Go live. Get captioned in 81 languages.

Stream a class, a talk or a tour. Each viewer picks a caption language and can have it read aloud.

How live captions work →
PTT Bridge

See what I see. In your language.

Stream hands-free from Mentra Live smart glasses, a phone or a webcam. Viewers read your words in their language, you hear their replies in yours, and photos and GPS pins land in the same chat.

The good stuff

Built for real conversations, not phrasebook ones.

Talk and it types

Speak to your phone, tablet or computer. PTT turns your voice into text and translates it for everyone else. Go hands-free and each sentence sends itself.

Tap and it talks

Hear every message read aloud in your language, from 555 natural-sounding voices. Each speaker gets their own voice, so you can tell who's talking without looking.

Photos, files and pins

Drop photos, PDFs, spreadsheets, even CAD drawings, plus GPS pins with map links, right into the thread. Perfect for trips, job sites and "where exactly are you?"

Video calls, still translated

Jump from typing to face to face without leaving the chat. Live translated captions run right over the video.

Late? You're caught up

Join halfway through and the whole conversation is translated into your language. Save a transcript in your language when you're done.

One phone, two languages

Talking face to face? Swap mode flips a single device between two languages, so you can pass it across the table and keep going.

You run the room

Decide who can talk and who can share, keep new arrivals listen-only until you say so, and save groups you invite often.

Any screen, no install

Phones, tablets, laptops and desktops. If it runs a modern browser, it runs PTT. Your IT department can stay asleep.

Live captions and streaming

You talk. Every viewer reads along in their own language.

Lectures, talks, tours, town halls and services. PTT captions your stream in whatever language each viewer chooses, and reads it aloud in a natural voice if they'd rather listen.

  • Viewers need no account and no app. They open the page and pick a language.
  • Put the player on your own website with one embed code.
  • Every broadcast is recorded with a clickable, translated transcript, so latecomers can catch up.
  • Already have a video or podcast? Turn an MP4 or MP3 into captioned, translated playback.

Captions follow a few seconds behind the speaker. Still faster than most group texts.

Write this down. It's going to be on the exam.

PTT Bridge

Hands free. Eyes up. Fully translated.

PTT Bridge streams what you see and say from Mentra Live smart glasses, or from a phone or webcam, into a PTT chat or a live player. The glasses have no screen, and they don't need one. Their camera and mics capture what you see and say, everyone watching reads your words in their own language, and their replies come back to you translated, through the glasses' speakers. Tap the glasses to snap a photo and it drops straight into the chat.

  • Point-of-view video for tours, field work, inspections and remote help.
  • Replies are translated and played through the glasses' speakers.
  • Photos and GPS pins share a timeline with the conversation.
  • One camera can feed several live players at once.

Why only Mentra?

They make the only smart glasses with an open-source SDK, the best hardware we've worn and the most bang for the buck. Other glasses makers are welcome to open up. We'll wait.

Universities and colleges

Your students speak dozens of languages. Now your lectures can, too.

International students, visiting scholars and their families shouldn't need a dictionary to follow week one. PTT puts every lecture, office hour and help desk in the language each person understands best.

Lectures with live captionsEach student picks a caption language and can listen in a natural voice.
Recordings with transcriptsReview the lecture with a clickable transcript in your own language.
Office hours and advising chatsQuestions in Korean, answers in English, everybody understood.
Orientation for familiesParents join as guests and follow along in their language.
Study abroad and field tripsPhotos, GPS pins and translation in one thread, wherever the group wanders.

How it works

Three steps. The third one is just talking.

  1. 1

    Start a chat

Open PTT in any browser and create a chat in a few taps.

  2. 2

    Share the link

Send the link any way you like, or let people scan the QR code. Guests join in seconds.

  3. 3

    Talk

Everyone picks a language and chats away. PTT translates every message for every person.

A real screenshot from the PTT app. The host’s name and photo are blurred; Diego, Mei, Amira and Kenji are demo accounts.

A real PTT chat

Five languages in. One language out.

We wrote a short demo chat in five languages, one person per language. This is the host’s screen: everything Diego, Mei and Amira wrote shows up in English, the host’s language. Everyone else reads the same thread in theirs.

What they actually typed

  • Diego · Español¡Hola a todos! Soy Diego, de Guadalajara. ¿De verdad cada quien lo lee en su idioma?
  • Mei · 中文真的!我正在用中文看你的消息。
  • Amira · العربيةوأنا أقرأها بالعربية. أخيراً، وداعاً للتمثيل الصامت!

Let's be honest

You've tried the alternatives.

We have too. That's sort of why PTT exists.

Passing a phone back and forth

One person at a time, lots of waiting, and someone always hits the wrong button.

Booking an interpreter

Essential for legal and medical decisions. A bit much for "which bus goes downtown?"

Smiling and nodding

Works great until it very much doesn't.

PTT

Everyone talks at once, in their own language, on their own device. No waiting, no pointing, no nodding.

Fast, smart and still a machine

PTT uses AI for translation and speech. It's very good, and like every automated tool it can get things wrong. For legal, medical, safety or other high-stakes moments, double-check what matters and bring in a qualified human when it counts.

FAQ

Questions people ask us. In several languages.

Do I need to install anything?

No. PTT runs in modern browsers on phones, tablets, laptops and desktops. Streaming from Mentra Live glasses uses the PTT Bridge companion app on the phone paired with them.

How many languages does PTT support?

81 languages for translation, with 555 natural-sounding voices for reading messages and captions aloud.

Is PTT free?

You can create a free account, and guests can join public chats for free. Video calls, public chats and live streaming are part of paid plans, and pricing will be posted here soon.

Do I need a password?

Not really. Ask for a one-time code and sign-in link. It arrives by email, or by text on paid plans. If you like passwords, you can still use one.

Which smart glasses work with PTT Bridge?

Mentra Live. They're the only glasses with an open-source SDK, and they pair excellent hardware with a sensible price. PTT Bridge also works with a phone camera or a webcam.

Can I read the chat on the glasses?

No. Mentra Live glasses don't have a display. They have a camera, microphones and speakers, so you talk and look around while the people watching read along on their own screens, and you hear their replies, translated, through the glasses' speakers.

Can I put the live player on my own website?

Yes. Each stream comes with an embed code you can paste into any page. Viewers just pick a caption language and watch.

Is the translation perfect?

It's excellent, and it's still AI. For high-stakes conversations, review what matters and involve a qualified interpreter when needed.

Who's behind PTT?
